Paint scratches.

Work was hell.

I got in around 9. I left around ... 8:45. The morning was more bug fixing. Killed a few bugs. Committed a few patches. The afternoon was writing XSLT stylesheets to format the conformance report. Trivial, yet pleasantly enriching; there's nothing more relaxing than spending an hour or two deciding which format looks best, or which colour coding schemes are pleasing and intuitive.

I was feeling mildly productive around 6 so I kept on working. And work I did, until about 8:45.

There were about two cars left in the parking lot. It's a long weekend Friday. Most people were gone by 4.

I was driving along Finch, westbound, approaching Bayview. It started to rain. The lights from the cars in front of me started to blur and shimmer and fade with the lights on my windshield.

Going at a moderately reasonable pace. Not too fast. Not too slow.

And then I see two bright red lights in front of me. I slam on the brakes. Skid. ABS brakes go *thwunkthwunkthwunk*. WHAM!

Before I know it, they're out of the car, looking at the (non-existant) damage. I'm sitting in there, wondering what the hell happened. Cars honk in disgust as they move around us. I forget to put my flashers on. Ooops. [Ed note: I just realized that -now-, three hours later.]

We pull over to the side of the road. Do the insurance exchange thing. I left two little paint scratches on their bumper from my stupid license plate screws. It'll have to be re-painted. It's a mistake that's going to cost me $300. Atleast they were nice about it.

I've had a rough day.

I'm no longer afraid of sleeping in the Math faculty comfy lounge. Just found out that we've found housing! :-)

A nice little townhouse a few minutes west of school. Wheeee! :)

Well, I don't normally take quizzes, but here goes:

Are you Addicted to the Internet?

Hardcore Junkie (61% - 80%)
While you do get a bit of sleep every night and sometimes leave the house, you spend as much time as you can online. You usually have a browser, chat clients, server consoles, and your email on auto check open at all times. Phone? What's that? You plan your social events by contacting your friends online. Just be careful you don't get a repetitive wrist injury...

Latest Invention

Mini-Google News. It slurps the beloved google news into a smaller format that's good for an Active Desktop or mini-browser window.

Oh, and mouseovers on the links for the news summaries. :)

What was I thinking?

I just read my post about Halloween that I made exactly two years ago today. It's at the bottom of this page. What was I thinking writing that crap?

Anyway. It's halloween again. I think I'll go mooch from the candy bowl before the kids get it all.

Carpe Diem. Seize the day.
